Swimming for Health

There are many different places that you can go for a swim. You can swim the ocean, the pool, the lake, or river. My favorite is swimming in the ocean. The ocean has a high salt content and makes you more buoyant, meaning you float better. Because you can float better it is easier to swim. Pools are ok, but they are filled with chemicals. You do have more of a controlled environment in a pool versus the ocean because in the ocean there are fish, animals, plants, and so many other critters that you can’t see and don’t know about. If you live next to the ocean you can just get up every morning, put your bathing suit on, and go in the water. Pick a region that you want to swim back and forth from. At least one half hour will give you the most benefit.

Swimming is so good for your health. Your body does not have to deal with gravity when you swim making it easier on your body. Losing weight is difficult without swimming. If you would go for a swim everyday you can lose five or ten pounds a month with the added movement. The calories will burn and your body will feel great. Getting your blood moving throughout your body and having the oxygen move in and out of your lungs at an accelerated rate will speed up the weight coming off your body.
